For adventurous wildlife enthusiasts, we
offer a truly fantastic experience in
the Romincka forest on the Polish Russian
border, also known as Puszcza Romincka.
Our instructors have teamed up with local
guides to work within huge expanse of
prime wilderness to find wolves, bison,
wild boar and deer to name but a few!
Forays will be varied, using all terrain
vehicles, on foot, horse drawn sleighs
or weather permitting, cross-country
skiing. This is also a perfect opportunity
for wildlife photography as we use high
seats for dawn and dusk observation
in addition to day-time excursions.
The main part of the trip, 4 nights,
is to be spent in the Romincka Forest.On
past excursions we have been priveleged
to see wild boar, mountain hare, otter,
raccoon dog, white tailed eagles, elk,
bison, and evidence of beaver, wolf
and lynx.Some animals have been seen
from the confines of the lodge late
at night!
We aim to make this a truly memorable experience
and so the course also covers 2 nights
in the Biebrza National Park or Red
Marshes (famous for its Elk).It is also
an important feeding ground for birds
of prey such as greater spotted eagle,
lesser spotted eagle, white-tailed eagle,
short-toed eagle and hen harrier. Other
owls, storks and swans frequent the
area and many other rare species have
been recorded here such as the aquatic
warbler, great snipe, ruff, jack snipe.There
are also 48 mammal species that inhabit
this very beautiful wetland park of
about 59 300ha.
