Throughout history, tracking has been veiled
with mysticism and (possibly, magic powers!) but in
reality it is a practical skill which can be mastered by
anyone with an open mind and a willingness to
learn.
Although tracking may seem to be an ancient
subject, it has a valuable place in the repertoire of
today's modern outdoor enthusiast. Aside from aiding
search and rescue situations, this skill is being
increasingly applied by naturalists and field scientists
to survey animal populations, find evidence of rare
species and as a non-intrusive method to study animal
behaviour. For the amateur observer or wildlife
photographer a good understanding of tracking can
greatly aide your success. Using the skills learned on
this course you will be able to place yourself where the
animals are most likely to be. Over the years, this
event has resulted in some very real and close
encounters for many of our clients.
To give you an even wider range of discovery, we
have recently introduced the use of night vision and bat
detecting equipment. |
